Digital Doors was created as a place for me to blog and share resources that I think would be helpful for teachers integrating technology in meaningful ways in their classroom. My goal would be to write a blog post a week, but with my busy schedule, that doesn't happen. I write when I can and rely on nifty tools to help me share what I am finding when I don't have time to write.

Nifty Tools

Google Docs: I am finding myself using Google Docs more and more. It is so convenient to be able to access my documents and spread sheets from any computer. The new feature of creating forms makes this an even more user friendly tool. I am using forms to create polls, do tech surveys and more. The ability to collaborate is a tool that I look forward to using more as a teacher. My class has just begun a writing collaboration project with 6 classes across the country. Students will use googledocs to build a story together. I created a class email address just for this activity. I look forward to seeing how this will work at this level. If you would like to know more about using GoogleDocs, take a look at these tutorials from Atomic Learning.

VoiceThread: Voice Thread is my new favorite collaboration tool. There are so many creative uses for using this tool in classrooms and for teacher collaboration as well. Take a look at what you can do.
